NO UPSETS AFTER 2 ROUNDS AT ECC BILBAO 2014

After 2 rounds at the European Club Cup, big favorites Socar (Azerbaijan), Obiettivo Risarcimento (Italy), and Malakhite (Russia) won again by a bigger or smaller margin, pending the competition system's "natural selection" which will pair the strongest teams on one side and the weakest on the other. The current Champion G-Team Novy Bor (Czech Republic) also won their match with a high score (5-1) against SK Dunajska Streda. Some of the top pairings of the round 3 are: Socar vs Oslo Schakselskap, SPB vs Obiettivo Risarcimento, Beer Sheva vs Malakhite, G-Team Novy Bor vs SK Rockaden. In Women's group we saw another big encounter between Cercle d'Echecs de Monte Carlo and SHSM Nashe Nasledie, which finished in favour of Russian team 2.5-1.5. Big surprise in the ladies' section is that multiple champion CE Monte Carlo started the competition with two losses, and since the ladies are playing a Round Robin tournament, it will be very interesting until the very end.Pairings of the round 3 are: Ladya vs SHSM Nashe Nasledie, Rishon Letzion vs Ugra, Batumi Chess Club Nona vs Herzliya Chess Club and CE Monte Carlo vs SC Baden Konigshofen.Round 3 is scheduled tomorrow, 16th September at 3 pm (local time).Games are broadcast live at the official website http://europeanchessclubcup2014.com/
